Growing Change, from Soil to Sack Supper
Our goal is to increase access to fresh food in West Michigan, ensuring that more neighbors and families have a low-barrier way to eat healthy, fresh food.
Pantry Partners
We strive for community-centered agriculture, in which culturally relevant and desirable produce is grown by community, for community.
Located in the same neighborhoods as our Sack Supper and Weekend Meal schools, Pantry Partners are community organizations that receive regular deliveries from our farmers and distribute them directly to the community.

Our Pantry Partners Say:
Our partnership with your organization has been transformative for our community. Many families we serve cannot afford to shop at [traditional grocery stores] due to financial constraints. This often means fresh produce is out of reach, leaving them with limited options for nutritious meals. Through your program, we’re able to provide these families with access to fresh vegetables and other essentials. This has not only improved their overall health but also brought a sense of dignity and care into their lives.
— St. Vincent DePaul of Holland
Families have shared that the fresh produce has helped them save money on groceries, allowing them to allocate their resources to other essential needs. One guest specifically mentioned how the donations allowed her to prepare healthier meals for her children without exceeding her budget. Overall, this program has not only improved access to fresh produce but also promoted well-being and healthy eating habits in our community. Thank you for making such a positive impact!”

Closing our Waste Loop
We utilize an in-vessel compost system that can transform huge inputs of organic scraps into rich food for our growing spaces. With this system, vegetable and fruit scraps from Sack Supper preparation, paper products from events and even pulled weeds can all become fuel for future produce.

The Buzz on Bees
For high yields, our produce relies on fuzzy flying friends to pollinate flowers. Our two farms feature thriving apiaries where honeybees hum peacefully. Kids who visit the farm in Kent County even have a chance to get safely close to these critical pollinators by visiting our observation hive!
Each fall, honey is harvested from all of our beehives and sold to community to support our work. To purchase this local superfood, visit any of our three locations.

Volunteer Where You Shine
Every growing season, we rely on volunteers to plant, tend and harvest fresh produce in our growing spaces. Connect with the soil under an open sky in the middle of Holland, Grand Rapids or Muskegon.
We also have a variety of custom experiences to fit your passion for the outdoors. From landscaping to washing produce before it is delivered to community, there is a place for you to make a difference here. To learn more, email Jason.Lundberg@kids.foodbasket.org
