The power of education opens hearts and minds, while our dynamic hands-on curriculum connects students to healthy food, how it’s grown and why it matters, creating lifelong habits and skills that stick.

Hands-On Lessons That Last

Experiential learning challenges students to think beyond the classroom. With KFB education, they dissect plants, taste new foods, create recipes and more. 

When kids interact with KFB on our farms or in their classrooms, they are invited to experiment, question and try new things. The result is empowerment around nutrition and agriculture that lasts well beyond each lesson.

Partnerships

We work with educators at our Sack Supper and Weekend Meal partner schools and community centers to craft customized, rich agriculture and nutrition experiences that meet the needs of each classroom and group.

Interactions with KFB’s operations leave all involved better informed about the reality of food insecurity and how our neighbors can disrupt the barriers of poverty for long term solutions.

Volunteerism

Education volunteers are an important part of delivering hands-on nutrition and agriculture lessons to local learners. Whether it is preparing education materials, assisting with activities or helping with setup, education volunteers make a meaningful difference.

These generous community members support lessons both in our three locations and growing spaces and throughout West Michigan.
