We are grateful for our amazing community of advocates who volunteer their time and resources to our mission to nourish West Michigan kids to reach their full potential.
Did you know that, in addition to volunteering and donating, there is another fun way to get involved with KFB’s work? Events and campaigns bring neighbors together to support KFB’s operations and raise awareness for childhood food access.
We hope to see you around the table or at the finish line as we host the following in 2024:
Baskets for Kids takes your support to the basketball court all high school basketball season long, until February 23! For each 3-point basket made during the 96.1 High School Basketball Game of the Week, LMCU has generously committed to a $50 donation to Kids’ Food Basket. Make your own donation while cheering on student athletes!
Go Orange with KFB on March 22 after spending the month turning West Michigan orange to raise awareness and resources for childhood hunger. Whether it is rounding up at a local business, joining the Go Orange Challenge, volunteering, or having a Wish List drive, there are lots of ways to Go Orange this year!
The 22nd annual Feast for Kids moves to April 23 this year. This delectable meal in partnership with the American Culinary Federation of Grand Rapids is sure to delight!
Farm to Table Dinners begin on June 20 and run on select dates through September. Enjoy a fresh meal prepared by lauded local chefs while seated on the breathtaking barn patio at our Kent County and Ottawa + Allegan farms.
Gather around One Meal One Mission for an exquisite culinary experience in the KFB Kent County Greenhouse on September 20. This elegant event transforms the lush growing space into an enchanting dining room one evening each year.
Brown Bag Decorating Month moves to October this year! As the leaves change color, add some color to our Sack Suppers! Get creative and drop off decorated paper bags at any of KFB’s three locations.
Fall Fest will bring free family fun to both our Kent County and Ottawa + Allegan County farms on October 6 and October 10, respectively.
Celebrate 2024 like it’s 1924 at Great Lakes Gatsby in Muskegon on November 2. Guests will have a roaring good time while dining in elegance and sipping on prohibition-style cocktails.
The 19th annual Gobble Wobble Fun Run joins the biggest running day of the year on November 28. Join friends and family (even furry ones!) of all ages to wobble to the finish line. Costumes encouraged!
When we come together, we have the power to make a difference for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. We look forward to making memories and an impact with you in 2024!
